Rural land tenure in China

There are two real estate systems in China, one is a commercial housing system in the city. The other is rural collective ownership.

In the countryside, there is no tax on the land, it is distributed by the government for free, there is no inheritance tax, and of course you have to pay for the house to build at your own expense.

Although it cannot be sold legally
, but theoretically you can inherit it, you can rent it, you can keep it without spending a penny, and if someone expropriates it, there will be a huge compensation.

Therefore, many Chinese, in their hometowns in the countryside, as well as the foundations and houses of their parents and ancestors, as their own retreat, if they cannot find a job in the city, they still have the opportunity to return to the countryside to live.
